REQUIREMENTS

– Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer;
– Hands-on experience with PHP and MySQL in production environments;
– Proven experience working with legacy codebases;
– Proven ability to design and own medium to large systems;
– Solid understanding of backend systems & APIs, databases and data modelling;
– Experience with code reviews and architectural decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Own the technical architecture and design of your domain/team;
– Review system designs, APIs, data models, and non-functional requirements;
– Ensure code quality through code reviews, standards, and best practices;
– Make technical trade-off decisions (speed vs quality, short-term vs long-term);
– Act as the first technical escalation point before issues go to the Architect /CTO;
– Ensure production readiness: observability, logging, error handling, scalability;
– Own delivery commitments of the team (scope, quality, timelines);
– Break down product requirements into technical tasks with clear estimations;
– Actively participate in planning, grooming, and retrospectives;
– Identify risks early and communicate them clearly;
– Ensure technical debt is tracked and addressed intentionally.
