Senior Java Engineer at SPD Technology

We are now seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Java Engineer to join the team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a scalable platform which enables clients to better assess private company traction, health, and strategy with non-financial datasets.

REQUIREMENTS

– Strong proficiency in Java (17+) for backend and data services.
– Experience with streaming and batch processing frameworks e.g. Kafka.
– Solid SQL knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases.
– Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP environments.
– Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and API design.
– Experienced with AI tools in engineering (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services for data ingestion and transformation.
– Implement orchestration and automation of data pipelines (streaming and batch).
– Develop APIs for unified access to enriched datasets.
– Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
– Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
– Ensure high standards for security, performance, and reliability.
