ABOUT THE PROJECT

Our partner is one of the largest retail e-commerce companies in North America. The team supports software and hardware used in stores by more than 40,000 employees, powering everything from point-of-sale systems and handheld devices for tailoring, to stylist tools, curbside pickup, and innovative digital experiences for customers. In scope of a large-scale cloud transformation, we are rebuilding the ecosystem to improve scalability, performance, cost, and security. Some legacy services are being replaced with modern solutions built on Kubernetes, AWS, and Kafka. Overall, if you like to communicate with customers and explore how things work at complex infrastructure, this might be the right project for you.

REQUIREMENTS

– 3-5 years professional experience in Java programming language
– B2 English
– Kafka or alternative
– Proficiency with AWS cloud technologies (nice to have)
– Knowledge of other Cloud technologies (a plus)
– Proficiency with relational databases (familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus)
– Experience in Python programming language (nice to have)
– Working Knowledge of Airflow data orchestration tools and pipelines (nice to have)
– Knowledge of RESTful architecture and micro services (nice to have)
– Knowledge of JSON and XML (nice to have)
– Knowledge of React UI framework (a plus)
– Knowledge of Data engineering frameworks and technologies (a plus)
– Familiarity with CI/CD and testing tools (a plus)
– Experience with Kubernetes and Docker (a plus)

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Design, build, and enhance APIs, CI/CD automation, tests, and proofs of concept to deliver robust, customer-focused solutions.
– Apply strong engineering principles, analytical thinking, and business understanding to design, document, and implement clean solutions.
– Collaborate with peers, product, and business teams: define requirements, scope work, review designs/code, and provide on-call support.
– Uphold high standards for code quality, testing, automation, and DevOps practices, including monitoring, alerting, and cloud infrastructure.
– Share knowledge and continuously learn: lead knowledge-sharing sessions, adopt new tools/technologies, and contribute to team growth.
– Communicate effectively, adapt to changing needs, and take ownership to drive results.
