ABOUT THE PROJECT

This AI‑driven, evidence‑based peer support platform enables health plans, self‑insured employers, and government agencies to address the serious impact of loneliness and social isolation on health outcomes, costs, and engagement rates. The platform uses a unique approach to build tailored social support networks that adapt over time and respond to improvements in users’ social and mental well‑being. The mission is clear: to help overcome the Loneliness Epidemic.

REQUIREMENTS

– 7+ years of experience as a backend developer, with strong skills in Node.js and TypeScript
– 3+ years working with MongoDB
– Deep understanding of RESTful API design and Express.js
– Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+)
– Solid understanding of production environments and debugging
– Expertise in performance optimization and scalable architecture
– Knowledge of software engineering principles (SOLID, design patterns, OOP/FP, TDD)
– Familiarity with the Node.js ecosystem (package managers, linters, best practices)
– Excellent communication skills, team mindset, and empathy
– Ability to work with US-based teams and across time zones
– Understanding of service-oriented and event-driven architecture
– Management or mentorship experience (Nice to Have)
– Experience with system architecture and modern frameworks (Nice to Have)
– Knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity, DevOps, or compliance (Nice to Have)
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services
– Build RESTful APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.js
– Work with MongoDB databases and AWS services (ECS, SQS, EventBridge, Lambda, CloudWatch, SSM)
– Diagnose and resolve technical and production issues
– Identify and analyze performance bottlenecks
– Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-timezone teams
– Ensure system security, reliability, and best-practice architecture
– Carry requirements from early concept to full implementation
