Our client is a leading company in the IT operations and incident management space, providing a platform for automation, monitoring, and system reliability, is now looking for a Senior Backend / Integrations Engineer to design and build scalable integrations and data pipelines connecting the platform with various external systems. This role focuses on API integrations, event-driven architectures, and data normalization, ensuring reliable and efficient data flow across distributed systems. The platform also incorporates AI-assisted development workflows and AI-driven features, where engineers may contribute to prompt design, automation logic, and AI-enhanced processing layers.

Design and build scalable integrations with external enterprise systems Develop event-driven architectures (webhooks, polling, streaming, API orchestration) Implement backend services using Node.js and cloud infrastructure (AWS) Process and normalize high-volume, real-time data flows Support AI-assisted product features, including: prompt design and optimization AI-driven automation workflows Ensure reliability of integration pipelines in production environments Handle API versioning, schema changes, rate limits, and backward compatibility Build and maintain testing pipelines (unit, integration, staging) Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams Troubleshoot complex cross-system integration issues Maintain technical documentation of integrations and workflows Requirements 5–7+ years as a Backend / Integrations Engineer Strong experience with Node.js or similar backend stacks Node.js is preferable Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and distributed systems Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) Understanding of prompt engineering basics Experience with event-driven architecture Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Strong debugging and system troubleshooting skills Experience delivering features end-to-end (design → production) Comfortable working in complex distributed environments Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
