Senior Backstage Platform Engineer at Zoolatech

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Our client is a global jewelry manufacturer and retailer that is transforming the way developers work with cutting-edge platform engineering. The mission is to empower our engineering teams with exceptional self-service capabilities by leveraging automation, standardization, and innovative solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

– Proven experience implementing and scaling the Backstage.io Platform in a large enterprise and production environments.
– 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on full-stack development.
– Experience working in Platform Engineering or Developer Experience (DevEx) teams.
– Strong understanding of SSO integrations, enterprise compliance requirements, and secure SDLC practices.
– Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
– Strong experience with Node.js and plugin development.
– Experience with Azure and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).
– Familiarity with CI/CD, cloud, monitoring, and identity tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure, New Relic).
– Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
– Familiarity with OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, and permission system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Design, implement, and scale a Backstage-powered platform in a large enterprise environment.
– Develop and maintain custom Backstage plugins, integrations, and frontend components.
– Extend the Software Catalog to provide a unified view of services, systems, and resources.
– Build and maintain platform integrations with internal tools and cloud services.
– Create customizable dashboards tailored to the specific needs of developers and teams.
– Collaborate closely with platform, DevOps, security, and product teams to enable self-service workflows.
– Ensure the platform meets enterprise security, compliance, and SDLC standards.
– Improve developer experience through automation, standardization, and observability.
– Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor other engineers.
