Senior Frontend Engineer at Zoolatech

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Join the Food Systems engineering team and help build and evolve internal platforms that power recipe creation and menu planning at HelloFresh – one of the world’s leading meal-kit delivery companies. The team is responsible for the systems that manage ingredients, supplier integrations, and recipe data, enabling internal users to design weekly menus that are delivered to millions of customers worldwide. These platforms play a critical role in the supply chain and directly influence what customers see and cook each week. Currently, the team is focused on migrating a key recipe creation tool from an external solution to an internal platform. This work includes simplifying an overly complex architecture, improving automation and reliability, and evolving data-heavy, event-driven systems.

REQUIREMENTS

– 5+ years of professional frontend development experience with strong problem-solving skills.
– Strong proficiency in React and Next.js, with solid experience in modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
– Experience in mono-repositories, frontend developer experience tools.
– Experience writing unit/integration/functional test cases and Cypress, Jest frameworks.
– Proficiency in end-to-end development processes, including TDD, application tuning/profiling, and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).
– Interest in improving code quality, maintainability, and developer experience.
– Experience with Gen AI–powered tooling is a plus.
– Strong English communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical ideas and collaborate in a distributed team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Build and maintain frontend applications used for internal recipe creation and menu planning.
– Contribute to the migration of a core tool from an external solution to an internal platform.
– Develop user-friendly, reliable interfaces for data-heavy internal systems.
– Work with React, Next.js, and state management solutions to deliver scalable frontend features.
– Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and internal stakeholders.
– Ensure high code quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation.
– Improve frontend architecture, performance, and overall developer experience.
